Finished and Blocked.
First picture isn’t a very good colour representation but you get the idea of what it looks like round a neck!
Pattern: Flutterby Miriam Felton
One Skein of Yarn Yard Caber, Merino Bamboo.
There are 3 charts to this pattern and I did 77 repeats of Chart 1, could have done a few more but the final chart eats yarn as you are increasing every other row so I didn’t want to run out.
I added beads to the final chart rows.
Final dimensions are 61″ x 8″
Another one that’s gone back on the list for a re-run.
Before the Thunder Storms arrive!
A few of my favourites that are out at the moment, Alliums and Clematis. There appears to be a pinky purple theme here, not intentional.
Iris and Bleeding Hearts with a touch of sauciness in the middle! One of our purchases from an Artist Open House.
Have a lovely weekend, I am on the home strait with Flutter so photos soon.
Have you noticed my recent obsession for Bamboo?
So far I have used Regia Bamboo, very nice for socks. Yarn Yard Caber which is perfect for scarves/shawls.
In the interest of Market Research (my excuse) I have acquired, and it was no mean feat, Posh Yarn Lei. While I was there I thought I’d get 2 just in case I never succeed again, Posh seems to have taken off in a big way.
Posh Lei – Seikh
Next the very nice Alice at Socktopus is now stocking Yukon Bamboo Merino yarn.
Yukon – Really Red
Yukon – River Rock
Not sure what any of these will become but currently I am knitting Flutter my Miriam Felton in Yarn Yard Caber – Caramello colourway (there’s some left in the shop). No photos yet as I got delayed by having to frog the lot when I couldn’t manage to pick up from the provisional cast on. Is it just me or do you always lose a stitch! fingers crossed this time.
Just for a change thought I would advertise one of my recent purchases. Contrary to what I should be doing I have acquired a lot few bits of yarn recently. Dentist bills are up to date and I’m not due back til July!!
Lovely Skein Queen Mulberry – 4 ply merino/silk
in Rockpool colourway. This is the first time I have actually asked someone to dye yarn for me, although this appears to be a standard SQ colourway. A totally painless experience with beautiful results and you are kept informed all through the process. I am now trying to remember what I had in mind for it! Maybe I’ll just admire it for a while longer before destroying the neat skeins with my possessed wool winder.
Etsy is a truly dangerous place.
Enjoy your weekend.
I’m sitting quietly in a corner knitting because he who would like to be obeyed is nights.
And don’t we love night shift!!
Sometimes I get the urge to knit a nit of lace, this one has been on the never ending list for a while.
I have saved you ploughing through all the pictures with a collage.
Pattern: Swallowtail Shawl, Interweave Knits Fall 2006
Yarn: Posh Eva 2ply, 2 skeins.
Shade: Dove (very hard to photograph!)
Pattern Modifications: I did 19 repeats of the Budding Lace 2 and 2 repeats each of the Lily of the Valley Borders.
29g of yarn left over, not sure there’s much can be done with it but if anybody would like it let me know.
Back onto Socks for my holiday I think.
Beetroot has started appearing in the Veg box.
What else would I do with it but Beetroot and Rocket Couscous, yummy.
